Charcuterie Board Care
(Serving Boards)
A few tips to keep your new charcuterie board looking fresh!
Never put in the dishwasher
Wash with warm soapy water
When washing/rinsing, wet the whole board (helps prevent warping)
Dry (and store) on its edge if possible
Keep away from mean trolls with large sledge hammers
If it starts looking dull, you can apply more mineral oil to freshen it up. Wipe on, let soak for a couple hours and then wipe off any excess. (Buy the smallest amount of mineral oil possible, a little goes a long way!)
Avoid throwing into fire or trash compactors
Charcuterie boards are generally meant for serving thus they typically come with handles. Some boards can be use to cut on, but never cut on any epoxy filled (part that’s colorful) part of the board if there is any. Epoxy is very hard but brittle and can cause small chips to flake off when cutting and get into your food.
